Im obsessed with beachy vibes and bringing sunshine to your wedding by making YOU GLOW with confidence in front of the camera! (even if taking photos make you nervous)
On March 1, 2024, I had the incredible honor of capturing Alessia and Drew’s dreamy spring wedding in Miami! This special day was even more meaningful as it came through a heartfelt referral: I photographed Alessia’s maid of honor, Katie’s wedding, and she kindly recommended me! Ugh, I just love my sweet bride’s and their referrals! The day, filled with love, laughter, and a few logistical challenges, unfolded across some of Miami’s most beautiful locales. The wedding day began with the bridal party getting ready at The Savoy Hotel in South Beach. The ceremony was held at the picturesque St. Francis de Sales, a Catholic Church filled with timeless beauty. Finally, the day ended with a lively reception at The Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne!
Pulling off this magnificent event meant navigating quite a few logistical hurdles, which offers valuable lessons for future brides and grooms planning a multi-location wedding day. Here are some essential tips to consider:
1. Hire Transportation: Coordinating between the hotel, church, and reception can be daunting. Hiring dedicated transportation for the bridal party, family, and key guests ensures everyone arrives timely and stress-free. Having this planned and communicated clearly will save you so much stress on the actual wedding day!
2. Extended Cocktail Hour: Given Miami’s traffic-heavy streets, an extended cocktail hour allows guests the buffer time needed to transition from the ceremony to the reception without feeling rushed. That way everyone has ample time to arrive safely, get parked and enjoy the cocktail hour!
One of the key elements that kept Alessia and Drew’s wedding day flowing smoothly was the exceptional planning by EAU Events. A talented wedding planner can make a world of difference, especially when dealing with multiple locations and tight schedules. EAU Events orchestrated everything to perfection, ensuring every detail was executed seamlessly! Additionally, understanding that flexibility is essential when guests need to travel across different Miami neighborhoods is vital. Traffic and unforeseen delays can potentially impact the timeline. It’s wise to brace for these elements and communicate with your vendors to align everyone’s expectations.
Bringing along a travel hair and makeup/emergency kit proved to be another lifesaver. Given the multiple venues, heading back to the hotel wasn’t an option, so being prepared while on the move kept everything running smoothly. Equally important was ensuring I, as the photographer, was well-acquainted with the plan. By doing so, I crafted a strategy for capturing every important moment, despite the geographic challenges.
Overall, Alessia and Drew’s dreamy spring wedding in Miami was a love-filled celebration that showcased the best the city has to offer. Despite the complex logistics, careful planning, and adaptability made the day unforgettable. For any couple planning a logistics-heavy wedding, take a page from Alessia and Drew’s book: surround yourself with experienced professionals, stay flexible, and prioritize clear communication. The results will be worth it! Because in the end, it’s all about love.
