Alyssa + Shane Wedding | The Cruz Building | Coral Gables Wedding Photographer

Talk about a day filled with glitz, glam, beautiful decor mixed with lots of tears and laughs! Alyssa & Shane’s wedding day truly had it all!

This wedding day wasn’t an average wedding day for me. It was at The Cruz Building in Coral Gables, which was a venue I hadn’t shot at before and it wasn’t exactly gleaming my style of photography – you know, the light and vibrant edit. The walls and ceilings were dark wood, mixed with beautiful stained glass and chandeliers giving off a very gothic era kinda vibe. Don’t get me wrong, everything about it was absolutely STUN.NING, but like I said, not exactly the vibrant, bright colors that I’m used to editing so I knew it was going to be a challenge for me, and I was totally up for it.

Alyssa and I actually spoke about this exact thing before the wedding day and she expressed to me that the reason she hired me was precisely because although everything about the venue was dark and gothic, she actually likes more of the light and bright feeling that my photography portrays so she wanted me to do my best to “lighten up” the darkness that was the venue in the final images. This came with a lot of strategic placement and lighting decisions throughout the day, while still trying to capture the beauty of the venue for what it was and I am confident that I was able to do that.
