Im obsessed with beachy vibes and bringing sunshine to your wedding by making YOU GLOW with confidence in front of the camera! (even if taking photos make you nervous)
Let me guess, you just got engaged and you’re already thinking about engagement photos?! Well, I’m here to tell you that I don’t blame you! Having your engagement photos taken is one of the best parts about the wedding planning process. Here are my top 5 tips to make sure things run smoothly and better than you even imagined!!!
Tip #1: Schedule your engagement photos ten to twelve months before the wedding (the earlier the better). Photographers book up quickly so setting a date as soon as possible is always highly recommended. Not only that, but the earlier you get your photos done, the less stress it will be making sure you get your Save the Date’s out in time. Save the Date’s are typically sent about nine months before the wedding.
Tip #2: Plan to do your hair and makeup trial the day of your engagement photos. That way, you’re killing two birds with one stone! Not to mention, you’ll feel extra confident and beautiful going into your photo session and you’ll also get to see how your hair and makeup photographs before the big day!
Tip #3: Clean your ring! This is an easily overlooked thing, but I will be doing a few detail ring shots at your session so make sure to bring your ring nice and shiny so it pops in photos!
Tip #4: Plan for two outfits. I always recommend wearing a little bit fancier outfit and a more casual outfit. This gives you versatility in your photos and also allows me to capture some nice formal photos and then some more fun ones that feel like YOU. Jeans or some sort of long dress or pants is always a good idea for that second outfit so I can do some fun poses that might involve your man swinging you around and we don’t want to worry about your dress lifting! 😉
Tip #5: Treat it like a date! Have fun and let loose and trust the process. Your engagement session shouldn’t feel like a daunting task that you have to do before the wedding. It should feel like a carefree, romantic and fun date night! Don’t worry, I will ease the nerves and tell you everything you need to do during the session to make sure we get some great photos. All you have to do is come with an open mind and get ready to have fun and possibly get ready to get a little sandy or dirty (location dependent)! Afterwards, go out to dinner! I mean you’re dressed up already, anyways! Might as well make an evening of it!
Alright, I think you’re ready to rock your engagement session! If you are one of my couple’s, you will also be receiving a guide before your engagement session to prep you even further! So, I hope you are taking this all in and getting excited for this next, exciting step closer to your wedding day!
